I did it. Youtube...
Hi everybody. It has been long LONG overdue... but I have done it. I FINALLY have how-to videos up on a Youtube Channel (Anniesimplelife)! How to cut a mango, how to cut a pineapple, and how to make a raw/vegan slaw salad. Enjoy!!
Spring is in the Air!
I can NOT believe how quickly spring has sprung! There are flowers popping up, yet not even two weeks ago, there was snow covering the ground! I am not complaining, though- spring is one of my FAVORITE seasons!! I truly believe that I have SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), which does, in fact, make me sad in the cloudier, colder months. I need my sunshine! Bring on the Vitamin D!!
Speaking of Vitamin D- have you heard about all of the new research regarding the deficiency that we are facing? The only real NATURAL form of Vitamin D that we can get is from the sun, and it is recommended that you lay out for 10-20 minutes without sunscreen to get what you need. For those of us who have been scared away from doing this, you can take Vitamin D in pill form, just make sure it is Vitamin D3. This is the kind that I take. The recommended daily allowance is 400IU (thank you FDA...), but with more and more research going on about this wonder vitamin, I have been seeing the recommended allowance increase to 5000IU a day. We generally take 4000IU every day, and it has really impacted our immune system. I was sick (sort of sick- run down, mostly) a few weeks ago, and after taking 8000-10,000IU of Vitamin D every day, my cold became VERY mild, and I got over it within a few days. That and Oregano Oil, and I was good as new!
Go out and enjoy that sunshine!! Happy Spring wishes to you and yours!!
